BIMA Membership and BIMA D-Day Participation
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Manifesto Digital are now members of BIMA.
BIMA is the British Interactive Media Association, the leading industry body for digital companies in the UK.
Made up of a membership that consists primarily of digital agencies they host an annual awards ceremony which covers categories from content marketing to user experience and have instituted a digital hall of fame to pay tribute to the best of British innovation. We hope to be popping up in both of those in the future…
But what is most exciting about our involvement with BIMA though is our participation in the forthcoming BIMA D-Day Challenge.
The challenge is part of BIMA’s Future Talent programme and sees Digital Agencies helping to confront the skills gap in the UK digital industry by linking up with local schools.
The idea is that, with guidance from local digital professionals, students will take part in challenges that get them excited about the possibilities of a career in digital. They’ll also learn directly from their digital mentors exactly what such a career entails and what’s required to make it a reality.
We’re really excited about teaming up with Aylward Academy in Edmonton on October 10th. The UK digital skills gap is worrying, leading to a shortage of homegrown candidates for digital jobs – especially for small and start up firms. We’re glad to be playing a part in addressing it via BIMA D-Day, even if it’s just a very small start.
