Stuck in AI deadlock? We'll help you break through

AI is moving faster than most organisations can think. Leaders know it matters, they're hearing about it constantly, seeing other organisations make big strategic bets and feeling pressure from boards and teams. But knowing that AI is important is different from knowing what to do about it.

Many organisations find themselves dealing with one or more of the following:

  • You know AI matters but don’t know where to start. The opportunity feels too big and undefined to know where to start, so nothing meaningful happens beyond a few ad-hoc experiments.
  • Teams are experimenting without a shared direction.Teams are trying things independently, but without a shared direction, efforts don't add up to anything coherent or strategically significant.
  • AI ideas are not connected to business or mission outcomes. There's excitement about AI's potential, but no honest assessment of where it actually fits against your organisation's real pain points and opportunity areas.
  • Strategy exists, but there is no route to delivery. A high-level vision for digital and/or AI may exist but there's no credible path from aspiration to action within the current context: no prioritisation, no business case, no roadmap.

The result is that many organisations feel stuck.

The organisations that succeed will be those who started experimenting and improving foundations in a strategic way: safely and ethically, and aligned directly with their mission and outcomes.

Where are you on your AI journey?

Not sure where you sit? Take a few minutes to find out. You'll get a quick read on where your organisation is today and what to focus on next.

Whatever your mission, you already know AI matters. To move forward, you need an actionable AI roadmap, one that fits your specific context, ensures strong governance, scales your impact, and gives your board total confidence.

Introducing AI Wayfinder - a 10-week programme to create an actionable AI roadmap

AI Wayfinder is a fast-paced 10-week programme that delivers an AI strategy and roadmap for purpose-led organisations across five sprints. It takes you from “we know AI matters” to “here is our plan, grounded in our reality, ready to deliver.” We help you turn scattered AI activity into a coordinated set of initiatives that build on each other, so what works in one team becomes something others can take on and support your organisation's mission.

"I reckon Wayfinder pushed us forward by at least six months. That combination of AI expertise and deep sector knowledge isn't something we could have generated internally. We now have a real plan — not one or two experiments, but a portfolio of experiments I genuinely believe will transform how we deliver our mission over the next couple of years."

Why work with us?

We have spent years helping purpose-led organisations navigate transformation complexity, and we know that when it comes to AI most are stuck between knowing it matters and knowing what to do about it.

We bring that hard-won understanding of mission-driven complexity to everything we do. We know the stakes for purpose-led organisations are different, the margin for wasted effort is slim, the accountability to beneficiaries is real and the need to bring people with you is non-negotiable.

We combine strategic rigour with genuine delivery capability across AI, data, design and technology, meaning we don't just diagnose the problem, we help you solve it. And because we believe the best way to learn is by doing, we build your internal confidence and capability along the way, so the progress you make is yours to keep.

FAQs

About the programme

What is AI Wayfinder and what does it deliver?

AI Wayfinder is a 10-week consulting programme that takes purpose-led organisations from scattered or stalled AI activity to an agreed, actionable AI roadmap. Across five structured sprints, we surface what's already happening, assess your readiness, identify high-impact opportunities, and produce an AI roadmap for  adoption that is ethical, compliant, and directly aligned to your mission.

Who is AI Wayfinder designed for?

It's designed for charities, arts and culture organisations, heritage bodies, membership organisations and other purpose-led bodies that know AI matters but don't yet have a clear strategy. It works equally well for organisations with no AI activity at all and those with pockets of experimentation that haven't yet added up to anything coherent.

How long does the programme take and what's the time commitment for our team? The programme runs over ten weeks across five sprints. We've designed it to fit around your team's existing workload. The structured sprint format means involvement is focused and purposeful rather than open-ended. We'll agree the right level of participation with you at the outset.

Fit & readiness

How do we know if we're ready for AI Wayfinder?

You don't need to have done anything with AI yet  in fact, many of our clients come to us precisely because nothing meaningful has happened despite plenty of conversation. If your leadership team knows AI is strategically important but you don't have a credible plan, that's exactly the gap Wayfinder is built to close.

We already have a digital strategy,  do we still need this?

A digital strategy is a great foundation, but AI raises specific questions around ethics, governance, experiment prioritisation, and capability building that most digital strategies don't yet address in sufficient depth. Wayfinder complements your existing strategy by adding the AI-specific rigour and roadmap you need to move from aspiration to action.

What if different teams are already experimenting with AI independently?

This is one of the most common situations we work with. Scattered experimentation isn't a problem,  it's actually a useful signal. Wayfinder brings those threads together, assesses what's working, and creates a shared direction so that future activity is coherent, strategic, and builds organisational AI confidence over time.

Ethics, risk & governance

How does Wayfinder address AI ethics and responsible use?

Responsible AI isn't a bolt-on, it's built into the Wayfinder process from day one. We help you assess risks, establish governance principles, and ensure that every opportunity we identify is evaluated against your values, your data obligations, and the needs of the people you serve. The roadmap we produce is one you can stand behind.

Outcomes & value

What do we have at the end of the 10 weeks?

You'll leave with an agreed AI roadmap,  a prioritised, sequenced plan of AI initiatives and business case  that is grounded in your organisational context, realistic about your resources and capabilities, and ready to communicate to your board, funders, and teams. You'll also have greater internal confidence and a shared language for talking about AI across your organisation.

How is this different from a standard digital strategy engagement?

Wayfinder is specifically focused on AI -  the opportunities, the risks, the governance questions, and the practical path to adoption. It's also designed to build internal capability, not just produce a document. We work collaboratively with your team throughout so that the thinking and the confidence stay with you after we leave.
